BIO

For most of my life I have competed on my own in my other sports, so being part of the Aerials GB Team is great – the aerials combines all the skill of my other sports. As part of the team we get to take part in my cross training sports as well as aerials, with other nations athletes and we get to be part of the ‘aerials family’; training along side other world class aerialists from other nations . The advice and support they give you is amazing – they already been there and got to the top but they can still find time to train along side you and support you. The aerials training team is where everyone starts and it is building up now with all of us moving through competing at the Europa Cup level, then to move up to the Nor Am’s and World Cup level with the Aerials GB Team. I was part of the first team in Metmenstetten SUI in 2007 , and it was a massive learning curve. Learning every thing that has to happen on the jump site is so important – and preparing the hill certainly keeps you fit! The other athletes were great and to have the top aerialists training along side you was good ; they use the Europa Cup comps for warming up for the World Cup tour so you learn the competition etiquette by watching them as examples. The competitions on the water ramps have also been great experience and it is good that we can have summer competitions. Cant wait now to be back on snow this winter and I’m looking forward to an tough but exciting season. I have two dogs (Japanese Akita’s; Cookie and Kia ) who I really miss when I’m away – it’s a pity they cant come with me as they are real snow dogs

The biggest fear of an athlete is getting injured, every athlete has been there in some form or another and the reason every athlete trains so hard is to prevent injury as well to improve themselves. Over the last two weeks i have been training really well but i have had complications with my back, but as every athlete knows that you have to push thought that pain barrier and focus on what you have to do. All i have to do now is focus on pushing through that barrier and qualifying full full ( double twisting double somersault ) after that the fun begins....

PARK CITY, UT – Top members of the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team were soaring skyward at the Festival of Flight aerials show Saturday, July 30 at the Utah Olympic Park .GB athletes Harry Gillam and Tim lever also competed .The athletes were jumping with special thoughts on their mind in tribute to their teammate Jeret "Speedy" Peterson, who died last week. Speedy claimed the Utah Olympic Park as his home training base for well over a decade which helped him to achieve the highest of success – an Olympic silver medal at the Vancouver Winter Games. The event marked the first International Ski Federation (FIS) competition of the season in North America and drew top competitors like Emily Cook, Dylan Ferguson and Scotty Bahrke from the U.S. as well as competitors from Great Britain, Australia, Canada and other nations. Athletes dedicated this first competition of the 2011-12 season to Speedy. The Festival of Flight was the first to utilize a new World Cup scoring format. This was the first event utilizing the new bracket style aerials format. Athletes qualified into the brackets, then went head-to-head on scores before making it to the one-jump final with four athletes (men and women).Fans worldwide were also able to watch a live webcast of this competition, enjoying the action in the park. Harry and Tim have doubles qualified and competed jumps full full, lay full, lay tuck and full pike. Two-time Olympian Emily Cook and U.S. Champion Dylan Ferguson took the wins Saturday at the Utah Olympic Park's Festival of Flight. In the men’s Aerial event the top 4 places went to the USSA team athletes (who jumped triple somersaults with multiple twists); GB Athletes Harry Gillam and Tim lever were placed 7th and 6th– a great start at the season opener!

So I'm back were I belong, on a full time training program at the Utah Olympic park (UOP), and I've never felt more happy about my body being so sore in my entire life. The first week is always hard to settling into training after jetlag. I have started off well getting rid of old bad habits as well as starting back jumping in the 'Flying Ace' shows held at the UOP, I want to thank Daleboot, Knox, Outdoor Traders and Rivington Alpine for helping me get this far and I am going take advantage of the facilities and coaching around me and train to my full potential
