FiveTwo Race Team are fresh on the scene in 2009 and have been explosive since their young and talented appearance from Suzy Lacey in April 2010. Since then many new faces have joined the team with more added to our rosta for 2011. The team is the brainchild of Rider / Manager - John Lee - and is named after his year long project for pinkbike.com "Fifty Two weeks" where he came back from injury and 10 years of no riding - to race at Mega Avalanche 2010. He worked hard and trained hard focused on achieving his goal to be able to race at Mega Avalanche 2010 and even when hampered by injuries at the end - he still persisted and achieved his goal to a great result! FiveTwo Race Team exist to support the same attitude from that project. Work Hard, Train Hard, have fun riding and achieve the goals we set ourselves.

Hot weekend
12-08-2011Hot weekend just gone and a mixed bag of results for the FiveTwo Race Team! Lee Gratton BDS Llangollen Round 4 Recieved a text from Mr Gratton lastnight to say a quick note from this weekend of racing in the glorious weather which blessed Wales - Not the best mate, enjoyed my run but made a couple of big mistakes, finished 33rd - race report coming soon. Weather and racing was superb and a thouroughly enjoyed experience! Jake Greene BMX Midlands Regional Series Jakes dad rang me last night to pass on the info on Jakes day of racing BMX in an area with NO shade!!!!! Hi John - Jakes had a great days racing and has drunk enough Gatorade to swim in!! He made a great batch of results in his moto races with high scores of a 4th, 3rd and 1st! Making his way effortlessly into the A final meant a good result was easily achievable! Out of the gate though 3 riders collided and took down Jake in a bad way. After dusting himself down he sprinted t the line covered in dust and with some new ventilation in his jersey to take a dissapointing but admiral 7th place!! The Girls at Redfest And the final report from the weekend is from the Girls at the strangely titled Redfest - 4x, pumptrack and Duel slalom race weekend. The girls have returned with podium finishes - AGAIN! And also with some sunburn and dust covered gear!! Adist the sunshine yesterday afternoon Lacey and Greaves hunted down Redhill local Cara Murray on the 4x track and just couldnt find the space through to take the top spot, however a 2nd and 3rd finish for the pair is a fantastic result - The picture shows how close Suzy Lacey was to 1st place!!
Mountain Mayhem
12-08-2011So another race,but not any normal race! A 24 hour adventure through the molven hillside on a xc bike on the hilliest xc track ive ever ridden! Its called mountain mayhem for a reason! It started with a massive run which I somehow got nominated to do,then carrying on to the first lap.Each lap was 10 miles! So after we worked out our system of who was riding when in our team of 4 the hours flew by and lap after lap was done.We worked it so we could have 3 hours sleep in the night which ment that I had a lap a 4 am! its fair to say that that getting my kit on at 3-30am in the back of my van was a dark point in my life! although once I got out and amongst the lap it was good to see the sunrise. On and on the laps kept comming until my final 6th lap came round.I cant describe how happy I was to finish my final lap,and I can safely say this is the hardest thing I have ever done!we finished 35th out of 123,not bad for dh boys. This sort of race has tought me many things,the most important thing being, when on a 24 hour xc race wear padded shorts kids! Thanks to my bike shop cycleshack,matt,julian,mark and sketch for keeping me going for 24 hours,im off to get some sleep.night people :)
