BIO

I love watching top notch skill and talent in any sport but for me bikes is where it's AT!! When you where a child why did you walk on the top of the wall not next to it? Why did you jump the gaps in the pavement? Because you could and it stretched your limits and its fun. I watched a moto trials TV show called Kick Start on after school that got me hooked on bikes but I only had push bikes to play on at the time. At 15 a friend took me on the back of a Super Tenere 750 Dakar thing and I loved it! He sold me and my brother a GT250 old thing, I just got on it and I could ride... then got a nasty CB125 and did pizza delivery on a C90. It was a very steep learning curve as there was no CBT in those days - nuts but fun. Then a 250 Honda, a RD125 then... 650Kat / GSX750 / GT250 / 650Kat / RD350 / GSXR1100 / a year off from bikes travelling / XL500/ GSXR1100 / 2 years off / GSXR750 / GSXR750 / 2 years off again then / CBR600 / Bandit 600 / GPX600 / and now my trusty CBR600F4i serves me well. I have always wheelied and stuff but seeing a free video from Superbikes mag of Big Dave Sonsky who had/has close ties to the Starboyz opened my eyes to extreme Bike control. He was doing mad things on a black blade so I went out and tried it but had no one to ride with and always seemed to be 2 up. Passengers freak out for some reason.. When visiting the Ace Cafe for the first time on street fighters day, I saw first hand in the flesh the compelling art of stunt riding. A stunt team were doing a show and as I watched I found myself reading and understanding the tricks and just 1 year later with blood, sweat and tears I was in the same show with the team. I still currently ride my CBR600f4i of which I have now steered my riding abilities to a much more professional angle. Here, Stunt Starz was born. With the ability to ride to a high level, draw and create, I realised it was time to start something new. It's great having the ability but without direction and drive, there is nothing. Our team has created something powerful of which I am very proud to be part of. 'Learnt in fun, protected in fear' 'Control your bike before it controls you' "Try, try and try again" "It's an art form that needs exploring and as such has a widening audience who in turn feed their very own curiosity." See you all out there! Alstar

1/12/2011 After a busy year with shows and training and the completion of the new stunt bike.. (please see the Alstar fan page Album New stunt bike garage build on face book http://www.facebook.com/media/albums/?id=170356662977691 ) A visit to the Knox stand at the NEC bike show to see the new range of eagerly anticipated kit was in order. head designer Paul Farrar had been very busy indeed I especially cant wait to get to grips with the newest back protection system the Meta-Sys from Knox http://blog.planet-knox.com/2011/11/meta-sys-from-knox/meta-sys-diagram/ I was fortunate enough to be one of the first to try on a prototype. please see picture. The new gear really has captured the essence of a futuristic look with amazing allowance for movement and functionality. See you out there training over the winter stay warm hhhmm ColdKillers perhaps.

A new season of training.

A fresh new year is here with it come a new season of shows and events and training. The desire to push the limits of ones self and the team is ever present. Some new gear from Knox has meant our protective needs are well covered. I wear the Knox Cross shirt accompanied by a contour back protector this not only gives a great look but the confidants to "GO BIG".Knowing in the event of breaking new boundaries if I should put a foot wrong or wheel for that matter its a case of pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again. Under my Kevlar Sartso jeans I have more Knox goodies The Cross shorts and Cross knee/shin guards, Again giving me protection in all the right places. Street bike freestyle really can be a school of hard Knox. Play safe out there and ride for tomorrow not just for today! ALSTAR

Questions and Answers

When did you first get into Stunting?

I saw a live stunt show around 2005 and was transfixed as well as being able to read what was happening with the tricks straight away, I soon started applying what Id seen as a part of a stunt team and 1 year later I was in the exact same show that had got me in to it! Before that though as a kid I was always pushing my limits on my bicycle and was in love with motorcycles.

Why did you get into stunting?

I got in to stunting because I love a challenge and receiving feedback from my bike. I have always loved riding motorcycles and to me it is the most challenging form of riding you can come across but at the same time the most rewarding.

Do you really make a living or do you just do it for fun?

Well the stunt riding isn't just something that I or 'we' do. We started a business back in 2009 'Stunt Starz' of which isn't just a Streetbike Freestyle team but an entertainment package and clothing brand. So, not only do we perform at shows, events and competitions, but also have our own range of clothing and provide other types of entertainment too. Our main focus in life is Stunt Starz and we very much make a living out of it. We are growing every year and becoming a larger business with every idea and decision we put in to action.
